Our new science standards require students to direct their own learning through independent research and hands on labs. We are moving away from lecture and book work and becoming a more student centered classroom. When my students are able to interact with materials they are much more engaged and they perform better on our assessments.
Your donation will allow us to increase the number of labs, thereby allowing my students to investigate topics in multiple ways instead of just through reading or note taking.
My students will benefit from not only the science skills they will be practicing but also by learning major life skills as they organize and manage the material while working as part of a group.
About my class
