These materials will help motivate my students when working independently, as well as with a small team. With a small space and limited resources, my students do not currently have access to materials of this kind. I strongly feel these materials would help create a warm and inviting atmosphere to our work space. In addition, offering more options for a flexible seating arrangement, such as the comfy pillows, comfy floor seats, and balance ball seats, will assist students in finding a work space which is just right for their needs. My goal is to meet each individual's diverse needs and allow them the freedom to move when needed. I have chosen the specific seating items for students to use during our Book Club and Guided Math classes during our day. These items will allow students to move through out our room which will increase motivation and on-task behaviors. They like to move it, move it! In addition, I have selected the word strips, sentence strip pockets, timer, and magnetic designee to assist my large and small group instruction for reading. These items will allow students to follow along in our comprehension and writing activities I will be teaching as we implement a new language arts curriculum this fall.
