These materials will allow them access to flexible seating meaning that they can get up and move to the rug, table, or floor pillows, which allows many of them to focus for longer periods of time and finish their work with less distractions. As a speech therapist I believe that positivity and giving children choices typically have a positive impact on their learning and will allow them to better focus and grow each day.
These materials will also be used in order to facilitate my small group speech and language circles where we will be able to sit on the rug and share books, letter sounds, and all sorts of language enrichment. The whiteboard will be used to model visuals for students who need visual cues and symbols to help them learn throughout circle time.
