These materials will be used to help our mathematicians create hands-on math tool kits that can make abstract learning concepts more concrete. We all know that math can be a daunting subject for many students but it doesn't have to be!
By providing tool kits for every child, we will have concrete manipulatives to aid in securing students' understanding of basic number sense skills.
As first grade teachers, we are building foundational math skills that will support the students throughout their lives! By donating to this project, you will be helping economically disadvantaged students to engage in mathematics and take ownership of their learning on class as well as at home. The skills they are learning in our classrooms will be the foundation upon which their lives will be based. Can you imagine the confidence that having a firm understanding of mathematics will provide? Who knows, you could be investing in a future engineer, doctor, scientist, architect, etc. The future success of our students will be greatly impacted by the learning they recieve during these formative years. We can't wait for you to be apart of it!
