These calculators will enhance instruction by allowing students to have access to mathematical concepts and experiences from which they were previously limited to with only pencil and paper. By-hand computation is time consuming, especially for young students who have not developed a high degree of mastery. These calculators will be used to effectively develop concepts, improve the problem-solving abilities of learners at all ability levels, and support instruction by allowing the students to have the opportunity to take ownership of their learning by checking their work. The use of calculators will lead students to experience confidence about their abilities and realize that math can be fun! Their math-esteem will improve so much that they are willing to try challenging problems in front of the whole class.
