My students are 8-year-old and 9-year-old children from diverse socio-economic, linguistic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds. They are part of a two-way Spanish/ English immersion program founded on social justice practices. The students are empowered to become language models in their primary language as they learn their second, and at times third, language. My students are eager and motivated to learn mathematics, science, social studies, reading, writing, and cross-cultural understanding. With your donation, you will support the academic and social development of students who are taking risks everyday to develop fluency in two languages. My students, their families, and I appreciate your cooperation.
