All of my students get excited about learning when we are using technology in the classroom, especially my students with Autism. I have found that they will interact more and more likely to complete tasks when given the opportunity to use technology to demonstrate what they know. I have witnessed technology being effective with students who display behaviors as well. Let’s face it, most students will do anything for iPad time! The iPads will also be used for social/emotional development when working with groups of students who have social skills goals. They will practice taking turns with others and using appropriate words to ask for what they want. The iPads will be utilized for district learning assessments and benchmark testing that is ongoing throughout the school year as well as daily enhancement to projects and lessons. The iPads will be used throughout the day, every day!
iPads are perfect because most students have access to them at home and already know how to use them. It is a wonderful learning tool that helps students to easily access information and extended learning opportunities while affording the teacher time to focus on individual students and their needs.
