My students are encouraged to read daily. While many of my students can read well, there is a struggle with comprehension. Having a class set of The Velveteen Rabbit will give the whole class the opportunity to read a classic story. Students will be able to use these books to help with comprehension as well as some great social projects in collaborative groups.
Giving my students opportunities to enjoys reading is very important. They say practice makes perfect, and when children are reading more, they are getting better at it. The students in my class would enjoy this short novel and the projects that I have planned for them.
