I'm requesting A Place for Everyone Classroom Carpet for 30. With this large, colored rug, each student will have a spot to call their own! During instruction time for reading and math, students leave their desk to come to the rug. This gives the students a better seat to see the board. This also allows the students the ability to be closer to teacher to achieve better listening skills. With this rug, students will be comfortable with their own personal space.
When students sit on their designated rug spot there will be NO fussing from friends since knees or elbows won't be touching! (1st graders are territorial!) All students will be sitting close to me and be more engaged in learning in a whole group setting.
