I currently have a set of 30 chromebooks, but several classes this year exceed 30 students. Without more chromebooks, my students will have to take turns and share, which is not recommended during the current pandemic and limits class participation and engagement. With just 2 more chromebooks, I can use Peardeck and elicit student participation and feedback, do quizlet live games, etc.
These devices allowed my students to speak to each other and hear each other, even with masks on and sitting 6 feet away. Luckily, last year we had a hybrid schedule so only half the class was present at a time, allowing us 1:1 device to student ratio. Technology truly affords the students as much a sense of normalcy as possible during this pandemic.
