I teach at a Title I school with many students who are at poverty level. I have a very diverse group of 14 special education students. I have 5 students who are functioning at a 12-18 month level on one end, to several highly functioning 2nd graders with learning disabilities and/or behavior problems at the other. Several of my students are on the autism spectrum, with two considered to be severe. This makes for a very interesting, active group. I am constantly searching for ways to incorporate sensory activities, new strategies, low and high tech equipment, and visual materials into my daily routine. Donors Choose is like a lifeline to me and my students.
