Our middle school band tours around the community to perform at a variety of events. When we go on tour, we collect water bottles, and other snack items for our students and store them in the band hall until the performance. In order to better organize these items and our band hall, we need a shelving unit. When the shelving unit is not being used for water and snacks for band tours, it will be used to help store instrument accessories such as mouthpieces, neck straps, and mutes for brass instruments.
There is no better gift to a band that performs in the Texas heat than a cool drink of water. Our band is in desperate need of a water cooler to take with us when we perform. The cooler is large enough to fit water bottles for each band student. We currently have 150, 7th and 8th grade students who perform with the band.
The final piece in this project serves to collect any money that the band receives for snacks and water for the band while they perform in the community. We try to supply all food and drinks for our band, at no cost to the students, so we rely heavily on community and parental support.
