We need books. Our library does not have a regular budget and it needs to be updated from time to time.
As a new librarian, I am focusing on inclusion. Our library needs to welcome all our students by having books for all the different cultural and diverse backgrounds of our student body -Latino, Black, Asian, Muslim, Jewish, and the many letters of the LGBT community. I want students to see many books that they can connect to -not just one or two. We have students asking for transgender books and the few LGBT books we have are worn out from being checked out so much.
