In Life Skills we cover social and emotional topics, such as how to manage emotions and make friends.
I travel between two school buildings, but in my main school I am on a cart. Not having my own classroom can definitely bring challenges. I want to be respectful of the primary teacher's things, so sometimes available white board space is an issue. Having my own portable white board will help overcome this issue.
My student would also greatly benefit from a Fire tablet, as I often share books and/or videos with them. There are so many wonderful resources for social-emotional learning, and a tablet will make them much more accessible.
Finally, even though I only have a small cart to carry things around, I try to make our learning as fun as possible. My students and I start each class with a meeting. In this meeting we often share important thoughts and ideas with each other. (For example, "Share one kind thing you did for someone else over the weekend?") Having a microphone would be exciting and fun to add to the mix!
