From backstage to onstage, our students are committed to success for our drama program. We pride ourselves in having open doors for all interested students from our top performers to athletes who want to try something new, to sound and lighting designers; theater at Bristol Central is for EVERYONE. The problem is, theater is expensive...seeing it, learning about it, participating in it--many of these things have a cost.
For the first time, we have been offered an opportunity to engage our theater students in an exciting first hand look at professional theater; With your help, ALL of our kids can attend this once-in-a-lifetime series of events.
The Palace Theater in Waterbury, CT has invited our troupe to watch the professional touring company of Legally Blonde load in their lighting and sound equipment and gorgeous set, partake in a question and answer session with the theater staff, enjoy a performance of Legally Blonde and participate in a post-show meet-and-greet with the cast and crew. This exciting opportunity will engage all of our participants with its performance elements, business connections and creative approaches to STEM via the world of technical theater.
Since The Palace Theater is a professional theater only fifteen minutes away, the transportation and ticket costs are much lower, thus allowing more students to attend. If you can help us fund these events, we can further decrease the individual, per-person cost. Furthermore, this trip is not just about acting, which tends to be the norm for workshops, etc. With your financial support, this two day experience would potentially give ALL of our students an inside look at the many jobs that exist in theater as well as all of the elements that come together to put up a professional production from load-in to lights up!
