The materials requested would help provide various modes for my newcomer students to access content and feel confident when practicing the English language. My students are in 1st and 2nd grade, but I teach them in a room designed for older students.
The flexible seating options would allow them to be better positioned to work at the table and to help with their activeness. I would also use these mats so that my students could sit on the floor to learn, which is more developmentally appropriate than staying at their desk the entire time.
My newcomers are eager to improve their reading fluency and would love to practice through centers. The magnetic letters will help my students improve their alphabet recognition and provide an engaging way to practice building sight words. The write and wipe envelopes will help keep the centers organized and in good shape throughout the year and beyond.
Other materials listed for this project will help us stay organized and on track for the rest of the school year.
