This will be my first year at Bertha Sadler Means Young Women's Leadership Academy. Our school is a Title I middle school for girls including students of mixed cultures and abilities that range from gifted and talented, learning disabilities, emotional disabilities, austism spectrum disorders, and neuro-typical children. This school is building its reputation to become a leading fine arts, engineering and career and technology school. The girls choose art as an elective because they love to create. The goal of the arts rich program is to encourage employment within the arts. Students will learn that artists can become engineers, architects, landscape designers, advertising designers, teachers, photographers and over fifty other arts related jobs. Our faculty works together to offer enriching activities integrating fine arts, career readiness, and the academic TEKS.

About my class
