My classroom was built for 20 students. Right now I am starting the year with 34 students. The desks are grouped into 4 desks. Many of the students will have their backs or sides to the whiteboard.
My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are comfortable and can access the information and participate with their peers.
In my classroom we do some teacher led activities, looking at the front of the room, as well as collaborative group activities. I am hoping with these swivel task chairs the students will be able to move around quickly and comfortably to engage in all activities and groupings.
