My students will benefit from this project because it will allow my students to continue to learn and practice a variety of skills with the visual supports he/she needs. Each binder will include topics such as social-communication, employment, and daily living (i.e. hygiene, laundry, cooking). The binders will include social stories, picture directions, communication visuals, visual recipes, and more. It's important that students continue to receive these supports at home as he/she does at school.
The binders will provide students and parents with materials necessary to promote independency. Providing my students with the skills that they need to be independent will improve their quality of life by increasing his/her chances of becoming employed and completing tasks independently. Students will use these binders at home throughout his/her high school career.
