A common goal for my students with Autism is to behave appropriately in school, home, and community settings. It is important for my students to learn daily functional skills. They show success through repetitive, routine-based, and structured play settings along with independent exploration.
Functional play gives my students with Autism an opportunity to learn how to function appropriately in the community. With these cooking, cleaning, and environmental supplies, my students will engage in peer interaction increasing appropriate language and social skills. These supplies will help my K/1st grade students learn and maintain these important daily functional skills for a lifetime.
