The students in our 5th-grade classroom show up every day excited and ready to learn. Our students come from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, ethnic groups, and neighborhoods. Our classroom celebrates diversity, and all of our students enjoy working together in collaborative learning teams on a variety of projects, experiments, and investigations. We have a student-centered classroom that uses project-based learning in order to create an engaging, hands-on/minds-on, learning environment. Some examples of our projects include designing spacecraft and vehicles for the Moon Mission, maintaining a bird feeder site and studying the birds, growing vegetables with hydroponics, studying force and motion through roller coaster design, and more.
