We are a third grade class in a Title I school. This means that every day students receive free breakfast and lunch, as well as snack 3x a week.
It also means that my students can be a little rough around the edges due to their unstable home lives. Our school focuses on teaching the whole child and a very large part of this is behavior and community. We have come to realize that most of our students aren't taught how to function in a community and so we must teach them.
I do this through the incorporation of partner and group work whenever I can.
