My classroom currently has 19 students with varied learning styles and academic abilities. I provide enrichment for higher achieving students as well as intervention activities for the students at risk or who have learning disabilities. Due to the learning differences in my classroom, grouping is necessary for the students to thrive. My students learn best when they are actively involved in learning. Small groups enable the children to have hands on experiences and allow the teacher to reach all students on their individual levels. The majority of the students in my school district come from homes without computers and technology, therefore, they become very excited and enthusiastic about learning when technology is incorporated into lessons in the classroom.
