Having the ability to create an online inventory and checkout system of the guided reading resources we currently have and continue to add to, will allow teachers to more efficiently locate the best books for our readers.
Research shows that effective instruction involves teaching at a student's zone of proximal development and connecting across content areas. This IntelliScanner system will allow me, as the Literacy Specialist, to create an online inventory, whereby teachers will be able to search for titles to use during guided reading instruction. These books can be filtered by students' instructional reading level, classroom theme, or related content area.
