My goal as a teacher is for my middle school students to be independent, confident readers and writers. I demand of myself that my students be challenged, encouraged, and empowered by their English class.
The majority of my students are from second generation immigrant households. They clearly understand the American Dream, as well the barriers they face in attaining that dream. We will not be stopped; you can be part of what helps us all to succeed!
My teaching and my projects are focused on helping my students access English learning standards in a clear, meaningful way. The connection between literature and life is one that enriches our childhood and adult lives. Through rigor and challenge, each of my students can grow into a thoughtful, competent adult. Thank you for your time.
