Our fifty-year old school has a rich history in that it was built in a post World War II African-American neighborhood during the time of segregation. Today, our Title One middle school has over 80% of its population of African-American and Hispanic students on free and reduced lunch. Although students have Internet access at school or the local library, many of them still lack even simple technology at home. Therefore, students often thirst for the slightest interaction with computers and accessories in the classroom.
Click, Play, Learn, via Mouse Mischief, will enable students to combine learning with interactive games and fun, thus helping to engage them and to provide a part of technology literacy, which is required under the Common Core Standards.
