My students love to play, so why not allow them to! The variety of materials I have chosen will allow the students to incorporate the use of matching pictures with the like items to matching without the aid of pictures. These activities will also allow the students to use multiple senses while learning language and vocabulary. The students can play with a small, 3D models of the items while they learn.
I love being able to create to aid in my students learning and their understanding of different topics and with the wide range of developmental levels, it is difficult to find books and stories that not only keep my students attention but also teach them new vocabulary. The paper, computer ink, velcro, and laminate paper will give me the freedom to create developmentally appropriate, ling lasting, interactive story books to introduce and extend their learning.
My most favorite item is the vocabulary game for the classroom computers. The students will be able to incorporate their new found vocabulary knowledge with technology by guiding their characters through a variety of puzzles to decipher different vocabulary words.
