My students needs alternative seating such as the wobble chairs and stability balls to help them be most successful and comfortable. I have added different types of seating to suite my different students. Some students may find the bouncing on the stability calming while it may be too stimulating for others. My other students may find the slight rocking motion of the wobble chairs soothing.
Each of my students have been affected by Hurricane Florence in one way or another. After being in school for just 11 days upon the return from summer break, we have been out for our fifth week now. Due to the power being out for an extended period of time, mold has grown throughout the school and is unsafe to breathe. It is currently being treated so we can return to a safe environment.
When the doors to AWE reopen, it will be like the first day of school all over again. I want to provide a welcoming and soothing environment for my students who have been affected by Hurricane Florence. With your help I will reach my goal of providing Flexible Seating for Florence Kids.
