As learning goals and objectives change, so should the learning environment. I am striving to create a positive and cooperative learning atmosphere in my fabulous 1st grade classroom.
These large, colorful rectangular tables will allow students to share and discuss ideas, work together on projects, and develop much needed social skills, such as listening and sharing.
The round table is needed to work with small groups of students during reading workshops and also with students individually without disturbing the remainder of the class. The flexible seating options (wobble tables and balance ball seats) are needed for those students who have difficulty remaining seated in regular classroom chairs.
