Our class has a wide-range of students from all over the world. We are a Title 1 school in the 7th largest urban school district in the U.S. Even with these challenges, our school has the top scores for closing the achievement gap in the State of Texas. Although we are different, our common goal is to take our learning higher through critical thinking and the inquiry-based model. Most of our students are from a lower socioeconomic background and some of the parents do not speak English. We are working together to build a community of learners that can transfer their learning on a conceptual level to new situations, so they will be prepared for the workforce in the future.
