I want to get our students thinking and discussing more - exploring different perspectives, and what better way than to give them these perspectives and opportunities through excellent literature. How can we expect students to read when we don't provide them with the appropriate, engaging literature and time to read said literature? I am asking for multiple copies of 10 titles for our in-class book club that I have chosen because they have the ability to foster great discussion and exploration of different topics and genres. Our in-class book club will allow students to explore books we don't have in the library. Multiple students at a time can read these books and then have class discussions. The purchase of these books will not only allow students to discuss the topics and themes with each other but will also allow students to engage in discussion with students from across the country who have different perspectives.
