During centers, students get to choose the order of their daily five centers (word work, work on writing, read to someone, read to self, and listen to reading). For read to self and read to someone, students pick books from the library to read for the entire week. Sadly we only have freezer bags to hold our books in. Over time the bags do not give an appeal to reading and become crinkled or tear. This is why I am asking for book bins for each child to store their books in.
Also, how cool would it be to read in a room that provides flexible-seating? The metal stools and floor cushions would create a better learning environment especially with students with special needs. Right now I am using throw pillows and I have seen students fight for these when they go off to read during centers. However, they have torn and worn out within one school year, hence, this is why I am asking for everyones support.
