I have a self-contained class for hearing impaired students in a public school. I have multiple grade levels ranging from first through fourth grade this year. My students are mainstreamed in regular classes for various subjects and/or related arts activities. All of my students use a cochlear implant and/or hearing aids to help them hear and acquire language. Their language delays range from a year to several years when compared to their hearing peers. My students are fun, energetic, enthusiastic and curious learners. Because of their lack of hearing, they are very tactile and visual learners.
