One thing that is true about being in school is that everyone can agree that the chairs are NOT the most comfortable in the world! In the past, I’ve allowed my students to spend a lot of time on the floor, because that was more comfortable. Then, toward the middle of last year, due to some needs of my students, I began looking into flexible seating. Flexible seating chairs are needed in my classroom to help my students build core strength, allow them to move while engaging in learning activities, and provide choice in seating. These amazing balance balls will be placed around the room so that all students get the opportunity to use them while engaging in small group instruction, independent work, whole group instruction and partner time. The seats will be available for students to use all day, including during writing workshop, reading workshop, math and science time!
