Because we are implementing reader’s workshop in our school, it is very important that my students have a wide variety of high-interest books that will engage their independent reading. Having a rich classroom library will help support my students' independent reading during readers workshop. My classroom library is already a place that my students really enjoy-they complete work there as well as reading independently! Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care and they are thankful for the opportunities to read.
Students with access to books and the opportunity to choose the books they read develop habits of lifelong learning and curiosity. In donating to this project, my students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time.
