My students absolutely love using the computers to engage in mathematical learning applications. It is challenging, yet fun at the same time. I have students beg me each and every day to use the computers, and it is unbelievably rewarding as a teacher to see my students get this excited about math! I was lucky enough to have my administration onboard a new online math platform, and in order to incorporate it to the best of my ability, consistent access to updated technology could create unlimited possibilities!
Unfortunately, the lack of reliable computers creates a roadblock; the quantity of updated and working computers is very limited at my school, and students are often left disappointed and left out. The ability to have a half-class set of reliable computers to use on a regular basis could do amazing things for my students' achievement in mathematics.
By incorporating Chromebooks on a regular basis, I am able to create more learning opportunities by challenging students to become self-sufficient and self-motivating. The best part is, it creates an environment where students aren't bored doing math! It's an environment where students race to be the first one to class, the first one to get a challenging problem correct, the first to unlock a new mathematical concept. The simple fact is, the more engaged the students are, the more they WANT to learn.
