I teach 4th grade in the south side of Chicago. I believe the school where I teach has unique potential for inspiring the future leaders of our community. It is a diverse and energizing community that embraces learning opportunities and seeks to demonstrate the traits of an IB learner. IB learners are inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced, and reflective. In my opinion, learning activities should be both inspiring and fun. Children should be treated as persons with the capacity to think and choose. My number one goal as a teacher is to inspire students to become good citizens and to become life-long learners.
