As a teacher of English Language Arts, reading, writing and researching are all state standards that are required for my students to learn over the course of the school year in my class. I pride myself in being a teacher that pushes innovation with regard to lesson planning, and I'm always looking for ways to make learning more fun, engaging and hands on for my students, and the use of technology is paramount to implementing many of these lessons.
Having a Chromebook in my classroom will allow me to create a "Technology Center" that will allow my students to research, create final products for projects, access educational programs, and level the technological playing field.
Having a technology center in my classroom will give ALL of my students access to a computer, many of whom do not have access to one at home. Providing equal access to technology is so important, and it is my hope that the addition of the chrome book will allow me to bridge some of those educational gaps and further enhance my students 21st Century skills in additional to our content standards.
