I know students work best when they have choices in their learning. It is hard for students to stay engaged while sitting in a hard, uncomfortable chair all day, which is why I provide many opportunities for working at a desk, table, or non-traditional chairs throughout the school day. I have been able to supply various types of flexible seating options, however there is a limit to what I can spend.
The Title 1 school I work for does not provide any type of rug or carpet and we can only request used items from a local Boys Club, where rugs are not available. Please help me provide them with a large classroom carpet where students can become engrossed in a good book, have group discussions and hands-on learning with a partner, or listen to mini-lessons during Reading and Writing Workshop.
