About 90% of my students are from immigrant families and they are all Spanish speakers. I teach language arts in Spanish and math in English. For most of my students the lessons in math are the only time that they are exposed to the English language. There is one thing that all my students all have in common: they never miss a day from school. I really feel a connection with my students, because most of the parents, despite their hardships, are very concerned about the education of their children and try to support me any way they can.
