A majority of my students live in poverty. Many face the challenges of hunger on a daily basis. Many come from homes where they are not exposed to literature. They start out behind when they start school due to their lack of experiences. My students are eager to learn and desire to be successful. They are active participants in all our learning experiences. I am so very proud of them.
