Having Chromebooks in our classroom will allow students to use online resources each day to assist in learning important skills. The school has laptops that must be shared among several classrooms, so students are only able to use these devices infrequently. Since many of my students do not have access to technology or wifi in their homes, it is important that they have the opportunity to use these resources at school. With Chromebooks, students can use online programs which give individualized support in reading and math. My students can read online versions of our classroom magazine, Scholastic News, which often offers other resources like audio, videos, and Spanish translation, which is very helpful for my English language learners! Students will also be able to read articles, use online dictionaries, translation programs, and google docs. Learning and practicing how to use these resources will help my students improve their skills and boost their academic achievement. In addition, my students love using technology, so using Chromebooks in the classroom will increase their engagement in learning activities!
