In my diverse 7th grade ELA classroom in Albany, NY, I have the privilege of teaching a vibrant group of students, including those with disabilities and English language learners. My classroom is a welcoming space where every student feels valued and supported. I believe that fostering strong relationships is essential for effective learning, and I strive to create an environment built on trust and honesty. By nurturing these connections, I help students feel safe to express themselves and engage with the curriculum, which ultimately enhances their academic success.
Central to my teaching philosophy are trauma-informed and healing-centered practices that acknowledge the unique experiences of each student. Understanding that many of my students come from varied backgrounds, I prioritize creating a classroom atmosphere that promotes emotional well-being and resilience.
