I teach at a Title 1 school where more than 80% of the students receive free lunch. Most of my students come from low-income families and are English learners. They face many challenges, but continue to move forward. They are very curious first graders that want to make sense of the world around them. Some of my students are also new to the country, but are eager to learn something new every day. There is a great sense of responsibility in making sure their school experience is meaningful on a daily basis.
