"Scholastic proudly presents Branches–a unique line of books specifically designed for newly independent readers who are ready to make the exciting leap from leveled readers, but not quite prepared for a traditional chapter book." --Scholastic.com
I have the incredible opportunity to work with the Gifted & Talented population in Port Arthur ISD. I teach students in grades K-5. Their reading levels are as unique as the students themselves. We have excellent librarians in our distrcit that order wonderful titles for each campus. However, there are times that my students can not get a hold of titles that engage them, or just have trouble finding something that suits thier interests. As a classroom teacher, I would order from Scholastic.com as much as possible to supplment these voracious readers.
Today, I am calling out to you for your help. While I still use the titles that I have purchased in the past, our need is greater. Please help me order additional "Branches" books that will help:
~Engage the reluntant reader
~Supplement the voracious reader
~Transition picture book readers to chapter books
Hurricane Harvey destoryed the Port Arthur Public Library. I am working to do all that I can to make sure I can put a book into the hands of my students. Thank you for your help.
