Distance learning is taking a toll on all of us...even our technology. Currently, I am using my own personal computer to run my class sessions because the school computers cannot hold and properly sustain the students on Zoom. If our students had this new computer, we could use my display monitors, to see everyone in the gallery view, without my fan turning on. This way, if a student is raising their hand, I can see them and call on them to participate. When I am using Zoom on my computer, with all this technology, it is taking a toll on the performance. My personal computer is slowing down the more I am using it to teach my students online. I want to be able to use a stronger, faster, school computer for the kids and my personal computer for my own needs at home. Also, our class session will be able to run smoother without my computer having to cool down before our next lesson. Getting this MacBook will help me use a better operating system, that's not my own personal laptop, to best serve the needs of the students in my classroom.
