I work with students with varying degrees and types of speech and language deficits from preschool all the way up to 4th grade at two elementary schools in our district. Our students primarily come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and lack access to rich language environments and resources they need for language development.
My favorite part about working with my students is watching them experience new things through their eyes.
Despite their sometimes limiting environments, they are vibrant, resilient, and eager to learn. I love watching them learn about the world and seeing them be excited about learning in a way that is fun and meaningful for them.
