I have the opportunity to teach every student in the school; pre-k to 5th grade. My school is a Title I school and has many students with high poverty backgrounds. The student body is also incredibly diverse; my students are from all over the globe! The art classroom is a safe creative place; students with different backgrounds, experiences and struggles can express themselves in unique ways and feel apart of a community of fellow artists! I love witnessing my ESOL students who struggle with verbal and written communication express themselves and communicate to others through their artwork and feel successful!! I look forward to introducing my students to new experiences and materials each year!!
