Our fifth graders eat before 11:00 am every day. When they reach the end of the day, their stomachs are rumbling with hunger. For many of our students, homelessness and hunger are a daily problem. Our school is on 100% free breakfast and lunch which continues into the summer.
For most students, the meals at the school are their only meals throughout the day. However, by the afternoon, many of our students start to worry about their next meal, where they'll sleep tonight, or how long it will be until their next meal comes.
Donating non-perishable snacks such as Goldfish, Graham Crackers, pretzels, or granola bars will help our students continue to learn throughout the rest of the day, while at the same time supplying their body with some of the nutrition they may not receive at home.
