Tables and chairs will allow my students the flexibility of moving into collaborative groups quickly. The many activities and projects that we do in class are more conducive to collaborative table groups than clunky desks. Many of the desks I currently have in my classroom are very old and not very accommodating when it comes to 17 and 18 year old students.
My students will be able to work in collaborative groups of 4 very easily. I will not have to have them transitioning or moving desks around in order to get into groups. Gone are the days of teacher-led lectures and constrictive rows of desks. Student-led collaborative lessons are the way of the future. Help me bring my classroom into the 21st Century!
